Discover Brisbane’s Newest Markets at the Queen’s Wharf Precinct
It’s no secret that Brisbane takes centre stage when it comes to markets, with locals scouring weekly stalls for everything from farm fresh produce to antique goods. While the weekend market roster is heavily saturated, residents are left without a mid-week option to lift spirits and stock the fridge. That’s where the Queen’s Wharf Precinct and Goodwill Projects come in, with their new Thursday markets.
Everything you need to know
Held every Thursday between 8 am and 2 pm, the markets host a range of Brisbane’s best artisan vendors, sampling fresh produce, street eats and homemade goods, offering something for everyone. Make your way through the Queen’s Wharf Precinct, to the George Street Foyer to experience everything the markets have to offer.
Kevin Dodt, Chief Operation Officer of The Star Brisbane, spoke about the impact of the markets on the CBD stating, “The launch of these markets is one of many initiatives designed to drive visitation into the city centre and meet Brisbane’s growing appetite for unique, city-focused experiences.”
“Queen’s Wharf offers a world-class dining experience, and the market complements that with a more casual, accessible format. Starting at the George Street foyer entry—which connects to both the riverfront and Neville Bonner Bridge—it’s an ideal, central meeting spot for locals and visitors alike.”

Everything Queen’s Wharf has to offer
While the markets nurture some of Brisbane’s best artists and small businesses, the Queen’s Wharf Precinct also hosts some of the state’s best culinary institutions, such as Pompette, Black Hide, Azteca and Cucina Regina. Beyond this, The Star has also opened up the Skyline Cinema, to the public and residents alike. This outdoor cinema runs every Wednesday evening, playing nostalgic films, with tickets starting at $7 (including a cup of popcorn, soft drink and beanbag).
After a night at the cinema, why not check out the Sky Deck for premium views of the city from 250 meters above street level? Or for the faint at heart, perhaps a leisurely stroll across the Neville Bonner Bridge which connects the precinct to the heart of South Bank?
